Visions of Chakaruna, Jorge Luis Delgado

Jorge Luis Delgado was born on August 19, 1959 in the highlands near Lake Titicaca, Peru, which is the heritage of the Incas Aymaras.  His mother comes from a family of shepherds and his father was a teacher.  Growing up in a large family in Puno, Jorge Luis began to carry suitcases for travelers to earn extra money for his family.  After graduating with the upper grades of high school, Jorge Luis chose to be a tour guide.  He is known throughout the world as an expert guide of the Sacred Valley and the Altiplano of the Andes, with his knowledge covering the culture, traditions and the spiritual heritage of the vibrant Inca world.  Jorge Luis now has his own travel agency, Kontiki Tours, and the Taypikala Hotel Chain in Puno, Cusco, Urubamba and Machu Picchu.  The most important thing is that Jorge Luis is a "chacaruna," a bridge person, who helps people connect with their spiritual selves within their own traditions.

Jorge Luis wrote the book "Andean Awakening", An Inca Guide to Mystic Peru, which was inspired by the illumination of his personal experience with Andean Awakening.  In this book of fascinating details of Peru, its history, culture, myths and magic, Jorge opens the doors of his mystic homeland to the reader through his own adventure of awakening and inspires the reader's own personal narrative.

He also wrote "Inca Wisdom", Towards a New Day, which tells the story that we are children of the sun and children of light, and the more we recognize that light in our hearts, the more we can see it in all people and in the environment.  If we can see in others what we see inside us, we will grow in love, in wisdom and energizing life force energy.

Jorge Luis collects articles of art and crafts, and invites everyone to promote and know the spirit through the common heritage as a son of the sun.

He has held conferences in different parts of the world such as Mexico, the United States (Los Angeles, Denver, California, Nashville, Dallas, Phoenix), Austria, Brazil, Argentina, Romania, Slovakia, Thailand.
